SB 2017

We had a busy week planned for Spring Break 2017!
Monday was a great lunch courtesy of my mother in law at Mary Macs in Atlanta.
They have some of the best food ever!
I had the chicken friend chicken and the sweet rolls!
So yum!
We also had fun dodging the RAIN and the tornadoes!
Yikes!

Tuesday the tiny people went to play with BeBe and Papa for the day.
We cleaned out the garage AND sold some things online!
It was miraculous.
I was so excited to get that task done.
I love being able to trash things and donate them to people  who will actually USE them!

Wednesday was filled with more crazy weather.
We braved the rain and some more tornado warnings for playtime!
It was Hayes' bday celebration with his BFF Luke.
I'll post those pictures and that story later!

Thursday we went to have lunch with Pawpaw and tour the Delta Museum in Atlanta.
SO COOL!
There is an actual 747 we got to walk around in AND there are several airplanes on display.
We got to spend some time learning about the history of Delta.
Spencer is wild.
Hayes loves to learn.
And Elizabeth is a professional picture poser.

Friday  was our last day of break and I'm pretty sure we just laid low and worked in the yard!

2014 Goals: October Update

My 2014 To Do List

  1. I am going to grow plants this summer.
I didn't grow one thing.  Unless you count that bean that sprouted on the front porch by accident.
  2. Run races.  As in, plural.
I've got one in November.  Fail.

  3. Buy the dang minivan.
    I love Melly the Minivan.
  4. Build my business.
I love my Mary Kay.  I am having so much success with sales this month.  I am so excited to see my MK career take off!  I cannot WAIT to quit teaching and help women change their life!
  5. Paint and decorate the kid's rooms.
Rooms are done.  Been done.  Still have things to hang....
  6. Plant flowers in the yard this spring and summer.  I love seeing my neighbors lovely yards and I'd like to have my own this year.
I am working on a bulb collection now.  I also have pansies on the back porch to plant!
  7. Develop a budget/plan to save for future Disney trips and eventually yearly passes.
My first luxury goal with my MK money!
  8. I would love to be able to use my blog as a venue to make some extra income for my family as well.  I am going to investigate that and look for income via my blog while on maternity leave.
I haven't looked into this, but I have been diligently increasing my traffic to the blog and plan to continue that through Facebook and Pinterest.  Hopefully I can be blog famous one day (or at least make mom-ney, so I can stay home)...  Ditto this for months...
  9. Purge.  Clean out the closets, rooms, drawers, cabinets, and garage and rid this house of unnecessary objects, clutter, junk, and excess.  We need to learn to live with less and be happy with that.
Diligently working on this one room at a time.  It helps to know we are done having children.  I can free up lots of clothes, toys, etc.
  10.  Wake up earlier during the week and make time for myself.  Enjoy coffee, or a book, or the quiet.  I could make breakfast for myself or the littles, or just put on my makeup like a normal person.
I am not a morning person.  I fail at this daily.  I am better about getting up in time to get all my stuff done, but I still have work to do in this area!

Family Fun Days: Chattanooga Sundays

Somewhere on the internet I learned of this farmer's market  festival day in Chattanooga on Sundays.  We took a Sunday afternoon to visit and see how it went with 3 kids.  Adventurous... and worthy of an adult beverage is how it went, but it was fun!  It was a kinda rainy, hot and humid, and sunshiny day.  We dodged the rain as best as we could to enjoy the day.
Spencer ate as soon as we arrived and was a sweet girl being pushed in the stroller while we shopped and browsed the festivities!  Produce, crafts, food trucks, toys, face paint, AND balloon animals.

Day made.

I swear Elizabeth had fun.

We got our faces painted as well!  She loved it!  Hayes got a transformer face...
Lesson learned about facepaint....
We should have done that as soon as we arrived and NOT when we were leaving.  Also, Hayes didn't really like the whole face painted thing...  You know Rain Man...

Annnnnd, that's a wrap.

The wedding involved some climbing...
No groomsmen were harmed during the shooting of this photo.

Sheldon Cooper ladies and gents...
I'm raising Sheldon Cooper.
Lined them up first, then organized by color, then ate his favorites last.
He is my child.
Lord help us all.

Best looking crew out there.
We sat and waited in the rain for what felt like hours....
But I'm pretty sure it was more like 45 minutes-ish.
Kathryn didn't even know her dress would double as a blanket during such a time.
We were trying to keep warm and dry!
Luckily we had a beverage delivery service from the 'mens.'

They were troopers and did a great job that day!
I don't think anyone understands the magnitude of my worry from that day.
I was TERRIFIED that my children would ruin everything.
Throw a fit, run, cry, scream, you know... the works.
Worst thing that happened was that we had to keep them DRY long enough to get them to the wedding.
Also, Elizabeth filled her diaper with a lovely surprise about 2.5 seconds before go time.
She sported the dirty diaper for a stroll down the aisle.
Thankfully no one was close enough to notice!

Papa is the only one with legs long enough for this to be a game.
She tries it with the rest of us and it doesn't end well.
She usually falls backwards or makes me fall over.

We all danced.
Even this chick.

Wedding Prep

My hair was a filthy mess when Layla got started Saturday morning.
But dirty hair stayed put all night long.
Also, I felt like she was doing brain surgery and stabbing the bobby pins into my scalp.
But I looked fabulous, so that's all that matters...
Right?

My favorite girl named Carrie doing the makeup for the other 'maids.
Emily looked amazing and Carrie did a fantastic job!
I enjoyed getting to catch up with Carrie and chat while she made them all beautiful!

Megan's hair was flawless.
Also, her house is amazeballs and I need to hire her to decorate my house.

I caught the bride in mid tweeze....

Jessica fell in love with tiny doggies.
I think she wanted to take them home.
This pup was a pro at begging to be held and for food.
No shock that the pup followed Jessica all day long.

Face almost done and hair was complete.
I waited on eye makeup until I was sure I wasn't going to cry anymore.

I think I ate all the cucumbers and broccoli that was present that day.
I love my fresh veggies!

All our dresses were the same shade o' blue... but different styles.
I loved them!
Annnnnnnnnnnnd they had pockets.
Epic.

Part of our gifts and the shoes Megs and I sported for the reception.
We should have packed rain boots...

Soccer Sundays

This was my soccer weather on Sunday.
I did NOT want to go play.
I was so certain that our game would be cancelled because of the rain and thunder!
I was wrong!
The field was in good shape and it wasn't too squishy.
No standing water, so we played.
It rained off and on the entire time we were out there Sunday.
I loved it.
I got to run and I burned 1300 calories!
I need to play soccer every day.
I love exercising, but there is nothing as challenging as racing towards the ball.

I had makeup on before the game.
Thankfully I had baby wipes in the car to remove it as my mascara was running down my face.
Post game sweat/rain look.

My sweet toe got crunched during the game.
But I won and got the ball!
It didn't look too bad on Sunday night....

But this morning it looks pretty gross.
I doesn't hurt, thankfully, just looks nasty.

Cheer Conference 2013

Last week I got to go with our coaching staff to a conference at the Ritz Carlton.
Um, yes.
It was that gorgeous.
The view from our cottage was amazing.
The lodge itself was amazing.
It made for a lovely run on Saturday afternoon.
The scenery was gorgeous.
The food was even better.
See?
Dinner on Friday night was steak with yummy vegetables and delicious sauce.
I die.
And dessert was this crazy chocolate lava cake thing...
It didn't get a picture because I inhaled it.
This was my breakfast leftovers.
Fresh orange juice and my fruit cup.
I finished it off though.
I'm not a quitter.
No sir.
I also had about 14 muffins, grits, eggs, and some more asparagus.
Makes your pee smell funny, but I love it.

While I was at the fanciest hotel I've ever been to in my life...
these guys went to play at the mall with their dad.
Ignore her mullet hair do.
Dad hair.

Minus one coach, but I love my girls!
Good looking bunch of ladies!

Piggies

We went to visit my Grandma Ouida this week.
Hayes and Elizabeth had a blast playing.
Elizabeth also had awesome hair.
She's searching for the Dum Dum pops here.
Sneaky kid...

Compliments and the mall...

Talk about the last compliment you received.

Yesterday we were out of school.  Many of the schools in our county are used for polling places, as a matter of fact, the place I voted yesterday was an elementary school.  I can't imagine trying to conduct normal school business with that crowd.  We waited in line for almost 1.5 hours to vote, but we 'boted' as my two year old said.  And he proudly wore the sticker, until he stuck it on the wall in the living room at our home.
Awesome.

We had grand plans to go to the zoo, but the weather killed that dream. Just as well since both kids were sickly and snotty. The cold weather and the rain didn't help that any either. So, no zoo. What's the trusty back up plan!? Chick fil A or the mall food court play place.
Chaos. That's the back up plan. Pure chaos. Everyone uses that as their back up plan. So we were there, with everyone.
We live where we teach. I've lived here for the past 23 years of my life, and my parents and grandparents both live here as well. And when we are out in public we get stopped often by current and former students, friends, and often family. Yesterday was no different.

I see them before Daryk does and they start to make their way across the mall towards us. A former wrestler and his new wife, who happens to be a former art student. Her first comment to me was, "You look amazing!"

Yeah, best compliment I had received in days, weeks even. She certainly caught me off guard as I was chugging my sweet tea. I got a little teary eyed and told her thank you.

Puddle Jumping

Puddle jumping at Publix after a grocery trip.
I can't get mad because he's pretty smart.
I was loading Elizabeth in the car and he made a point to find the 1 foot puddle.
Splashing and laughing...
