Reasons I loathe Bathtime....

I seriously hate bathtime.
I always have.
It's cute for the first 3 times, after that.
Just no.
I hate it and my husband knows it.
He takes care of bathtime because of my hatred.
He started doing that with Hayes when e was a baby because he got home late.
It was "their time" together.
That made it easy for me to avoid it.
But now, bathtime is a freaking Olympic event.
It probably burns more calories than a mile run.
Seriously, have you ever tried wrestling two slippery toddlers?
So as much as I hate it, they LOVE it.
Clearly.

It's a fiesta!

Sometimes summer means we are so busy having fun we forget about a nap until 3 p.m.
And we have dinner around 8 because we nap from 4-6:30 p.m.
Oops.
So I'm too lazy to cook and we go eat Mexican food.
Thankfully we can dine outside and be loud/messy without it being disastrous.
Family dinner night at the Mexican restaurant. Hayes brought his mens along for the ride.
This girl ate her own bowl of cheese. We couldn't share.
He also ordered for himself telling our server he wanted chicken fingers and fries. Mind you, he doesn't eat fries.
Just like she doesn't eat chips.
Cheese dip, new finger food?
Literally.

Summer Love

Occasionally, baby sister sleeps all afternoon.
Hayes and I get a chance to build towers with Legos and eat dinosaur gummies.
Everyone blows bubbles in the driveway, right?
Oh, you wear pants.
We don't.
And we take the bubbles very seriously.

The fish.

Confession.
These pictures are from Memorial Day.
I just HAD to share the ridiculous pictures of my children and the fish.
And also, the giant fish.

You like how Libby is rocking the mullet?

Hayes is driving the boat up the driveway...
Libby is practicing the Miss America wave.
Typical.
Y'all ever seen the giant catfish?
Y'all know what noodling is?
This is how you know you are in Alabama (or at least a redneck...
This is a giant catfish.

This is the giant catfish placed next to one of the toddlers in our camp.
GIANT FISH SWIMMING IN MY LAKE!

Fish, Boats, and Vader... Oh my!

We took an impromptu trip to the lake this weekend.
Maw Maw called Friday mid afternoon and invited us to come over for Father's Day.
We didn't really have any plans, except I wanted to paint the master bedroom...
Lemme think... paint versus the lake....
Duh.
Lake.
PawPaw fished and shared.
Daddy fished.
And also shared.
Hayes and Libby hogged the fishing space.

Daryk got a really cool toy that my kids do not like.
It was really expensive at the thrift store in Big Pell... 79 cents.

YouTube... you never cease to entertain.
Wonder what PawPaw did before there was YouTube?
Brandie says he split a lot of wood.
Prolly true.

Daddy and Hayes fished some more.
I don't think they actually caught anything.
Daryk isn't really good at catching fish on that lake.

And this... is the boating princess.
Happy Father's Day to all the important Daddies in my world.
A special shout out to my husband Daryk.
He always lets me have my way and I always get what I want.
Except when he says no.
He's doing a great job at this 'dad' thing thus far.

The Princess & The Pirate

I had decided after the lake weekend that we would refer to this as the summer....
of The Princess and the Pirate.

Seriously, not two weeks later Disney Junior released their version of the same thing!
Jake and Princess Sophia.
If you don't know, don't worry about it.
If you do, then you feel my pain and will likely be humming those songs for the rest of the day.
But here they are...

My princess and my pirate.

Seriously?
What IS that face?
Sometimes I think it looks a bit like that guy from The Goonies?

Anyone?

Push-ups and Wrestling

Just another day in the life of a Marine on vacation at the lake with a toddler.
Pushups and wrestling....

Miss you Buddy!
