Debut of Cochran Baby #3

Coming April 2014.
We are thrilled about God's blessings on our family.
I cannot wait to add another little person to our herd of people.
I love littles and I'd keep having them if my husband would let me...

It was supposed to be a secret until mid September.
We were going to tell our families only.
We had the kids shirts made and just let them wear them at Libby's party.
Our babysitter Jordan had the best reaction ever!
I'm certain she screamed for at LEAST 60 seconds straight.
Leigh Anne came around the corner and said, "Is that for real!?"
And Kathryn thought she was crazy...
But it is indeed for real.
The tests don't lie people.
And the doctor confirmed it this week.

Libby's Party

Party day is hectic.
Thankfully our family is more than willing to contribute to the party and help!
Do you know that in my immediate family we have almost 40 people?
Insane.
We are so blessed with all those folks!
Birthdays always start like this.
Heck, who am I kidding?
Every day with this kiddo starts like this.
Fight to death over the paci...

You can see she lost and isn't happy about it!

She quickly recovered though.
We resumed the usual activity of watching Tangled 900 times in a row.
We are on 876 this week.

Kitty & Daniel got us this amazing Minnie doll.
She's bigger than Libby and we love her.

See?
Love.

She cuddled with her all day long!
She even slept with her a few days that week.

They had class together.
But Libby didn't share the cake with Minnie.

However, she did pee on Minnie the next day.
Papa Jack let her wear swim diaper.
Oops.

Happy Birthday Libby James.
We love you to the moon and back a couple of times.
You keep us on our toes and always guessing.
I love your spunk and the sass you give us all.
I know that one day the sass and confidence you have will be helpful!

A Day in the Life...

My days are pretty routine once school is back in session.
I do not know how people who work faaaaar from home function.
I hate to drive in my car and I hate getting up early.
Those are the top two reasons why I work 3 miles from my home.
A.M.
6-6:45 a.m. fight with alarm and try not to get up.
6:30-7 Hayes usually yells from his room for us to 'open his dooowah.'
7:00 I get Hayes milk and a pop tart to eat while he plays.
7-7:20 I get ready for school, make up, hair, etc.
7:20-7:30 I get Libby up and dressed for the day.
7:30-7:45 I load the kids up, drive to the designated grandparent for the day.
7:45-8 I drive to school.  Sometimes I get Chick fil A or Martins.
I like biscuits, ok?
8-4:00 I teach, plan, grade, laugh, eat, giggle, and shake my head a lot.

P.M.
4-4:30 I drive to pick up the kids, sometimes get groceries and then head home.
Sometimes I have cheer practice.
Sometimes Daryk gets the kids and I go exercise.
Sometimes I go have Target Therapy.
Sometimes I take a nap or have club meetings after school.
4:30-6 I make/prepare dinner and we eat.
We are old people and eat an early dinner.
Judge me.
6-7:30 I clean up dinner, play with children, referee boxing matches, chase children, etc.
7:30-8 We run a bath for the kids and Daryk bathes them.
I pick out their clothes for the next day and load bags for transit.
I put my clothes out, their clothes out, and pack my lunch.
I load every single thing I possibly can into the car and get my coffee ready for the next day.
8-8:30 I bathe (most nights) and get myself ready for bed.
8:30-9 I go to bed and usually fall asleep by 9:30-10 p.m.

My 'days' vary from season to season depending on the sport season.
We have all sorts of things we do after school as sponsors and coaches, so nothing is the same!

Baby turns 2.

I remember her birth in great detail.
I was so thankful to be alert and ready to spend time with her once she arrived.
Her sweet little face is stuck in my brain.
Should have known she would like to eat, she had 2 chins at birth.

Mommy sleep is possibly the most important sleep in the world.

I don't remember this moment in time, but I'm sure glad it was captured via picture.
I feel like love just exudes from this picture.
I love those two with my whole mommy heart.

Siblings.
Something about this bond is so special and very important.
There are days when he tries to kill her, but I know he loves her.

See, love?
I can see his shiny cheek smiling from here.

Happy Birthday sweet baby girl.
I love you more than you will know.
Until you have your own princess...
Then we can talk about it.

Making Pretties

I am so glad that Leigh Anne taught her how to brush hair this summer.
I now spend a lot of time letting her HELP me fix my hair.

She brushes from TOP to BOTTOM just like Leigh Anne taught her.
Not very gently, but she is pretty good at it.

I just love her.
And I love that she wants to help.

Run or Dye

Just getting warmed up and checked in....
This is the part where you wait in line for the porta potties...

Hayes is so cooperative for photos.
He just loves them.
Pre race/pre color.

Again, with the cooperative child.
Isn't he so pleasant?

We found some color in the parking lot that we touched and threw at each other.
Libby LOVED it... Hayes still hates his life.

We do not like loud music.
See?

We were blue after the first color and SMURF attack!
Once we started moving Hayes was MUCH nicer to deal with.
I really think they liked running through the city.

And we are all finished!
I meant to snap a picture after every color so we could see the progression, but I failed.
We ran most of the way taking turns with our stroller and having water as we went!
The kids LOVED it!

These two are just so sweet!

I finally got a smile-ish from Hayes!

We had so much fun running in Atlanta for the Run or Dye race.
I love these 'fun' races that aren't stressful or timed.
It was nice just to be able to have fun with my kids and husband!

Thrifting Adventures

This kitchen is my childhood.
I loved playing with this at home and I loved seeing it for sale!
If only we had room for this at our house...
Pressed wood construction at its finest!

I also scored some AMAZING Tupperware.
As in, the REAL kind.
I love Tupperware.

This lovely shelf FULL of vintage cameras made my heart happy.

This is THE Pink Store.
It needs no explanation.

I love these little desks.
I already own 3.
I had to make myself NOT buy this one.

Lake Living

What can I say?
Lake life is great.
The kids are all smiles.
Husband clearly enjoys it as well.
And I'm busily taking pictures between tours on the float that the kids ride on.
Someone explain to me why Hayes will ride that float and get tossed all around....
But he REFUSES to jump off the boat, dock, or go down the slide?!
Elizabeth does all willingly....
and sometimes she falls asleep while riding the float behind the boat!?

Peanut Butter Brownie Buddies aka: Satan's Snack Mix

Link to recipe
The original recipe of Satan's Snack Mix

I found this recipe when I was 'working' this summer with my favorite cross county girls.
We spend a few weeks/days working together each summer swapping stories, sharing snacks, and working!
It is NEVER dull and we laugh the whole time we are there.
I made us a low cal  chocolatey peanut butter treat in June.
It was heavenly and I'd bet you have most of the ingredients in your house right now.
Go do it, you won't regret it.
Well... maybe not too much....

Varsity Blues

After Daddy's return from Fargo I took him to the fanciest dining establishment in ATL.
The Varsity.
We both had delicious chili dogs and some greasy fries.
It was glorious.
I got my momma a pie and the kids got ice cream.
They were thrilled to sit in the 'big boy/girl' seat and not have to be strapped into a baby chair.
