Halloween 2015

A couple of my favorite people in their favorite costumes.
Spiderman.
A fairy....
and Tinkerbelle.

No teeth... all CHEEEEEEEEEESE!

Future Golf Pro would make Papa so  PROUD!

Or maybe this kid will be the golf pro...

Halloween this year was awesome.  We attended the festival at Ephesus Baptist Church down the road and then spent the early evening of Halloween at our house with some cousins and our family friends.  It was an awesome evening and we had a BLAST!

Take 2... Take 57.... #willshouldnotbeinchargeofthecameraever

I was blessed with two baby sisters.
God saw fit to give me a few more soliders in my sibling army, but these girls are the originals.
Bless them.
They have been my little sisters for 30 and 26 years.
I wouldn't want to do life along with ANYONE else.
Both of them happened to marry really fantastic guys.
Occasionally we get to enjoy time together!
This dinner was a FIRST for all of us and it was awesome!
I so enjoy spending time with the guys and the girls too!
The conversation was interesting and the laughter never stopped.
After dinner we ventured off to dessert....
And we asked Sir William Pitts to come take our photo.
There were about 90 pictures that looked like this one below... before we got to the ONE shot that looked acceptable.

Just one shot.

most of them look like this...

Man, I love these people.

Weddings

Y'all.
I love weddings.
I also love that I live in Georgia and can say that 'Y'all' is a complete sentence.
Because, it is.
I so enjoy spending time with people at weddings.
I like dressing up and dancing.
I like that people are mostly happy at weddings.
The smiles and tears shared are always full of joy.
I seriously had a blast at this wedding.
We enjoyed spending time with Flat Leigh Anne and Flat Buddy.
The bride and groom are awesome people and I love them both dearly.
Not to mention, they look fabulous together and I seriously love them both.

Probably the best night of the summer.
Hands down.

2 months later....

The best aunt who lives in Georgia turned 30 in February.  We happened to be on a break from school on her actual birthday, so I began plotting a long time before that week to arrange a date with her for lunch on her bday!  I had to do some intense internet stalking to FIND the office where she worked in Atlanta.  I knew there was a website, but there are SO MANY offices that share the same name in the Atlanta area, it was a bit of a challenge.  I didn't want to ASK her for help because I wanted to be able to surprise her!  After about 3 hours of calling and internet research I finally found the office.  I emailed her boss and proposed my plan, she agreed and I began or orchestrate the master plan!  The day of the event we went to Sams and bought cookies to share.  We stopped by Chick fil A and got lunch.  After that we drove to her office.

Let me please explain that taking 3 kids out in public where multiple events and stops are on the agenda is a bit challenging.  Like, insanely difficult.  I only started to sweat about 1/2 way through the bathroom stop at her office.  The office building has fountains and ducks, well.... geese, as Hayes would say.  They have a revolving door and well, its an office.  You're supposed to use an office voice.  3 year olds don't have an office voice or office behavior.  We survived the bathroom, the revolving door, the fountains (thank you God, because it was REALLY cold), and lastly, the elevator to the floor where she works.

We made our way into the front conference room and set up lunch.  All of the sweet ladies Kathryn worked with came in to greet us and wait for her, so we could surprise her!  Kitty rounded the corner and began to get teary (never happens) so I knew she was surprised and I was FLOORED!  Y'all know that anytime you get to actually surprise someone, you get pumped, right!?

We don't get to see her nearly as often as we like to, so this was a super special treat for us this day!  Hopefully we will get to see her again some this summer and we can have outside lunch dates by the geese and the fountains!

Love you Kitty!
Happy we can celebrate 30 years of YOU!

HB KITTY

Sooooooooooo, last week my Kitty celebrated her 30th birthday.  I was able to orchestrate an epic surprise lunch for her!  I emailed some of her colleagues about it the week before and coordinated with them for a special lunch!  I was terrified to manage the whole thing by myself since I had all 3 kids and no help!  Thankfully we pulled it off.  I was actually on the phone with Kitty wishing her a Happy Birthday while we were driving to her office.  I told her we were going to Target.  I quickly realized I was going to have to get off the phone or she would wonder what Target we were going to...
We went to Sams to get her gift and cookies to celebrate before we headed to her office.  After Sams, we went to Chick-fil-A and got us all lunch.  I put in a call to Kitty's husband to get her current lunch order at CFA.  After CFA we drove a little bit farther to Kitty's office, made a pit stop for a diaper change and potty break on the way into the building, and then headed up to Kitty's floor!

I was greeted by the receptionist and put in a conference room to wait for Kitty!  I was SO excited to be able to actually surprise her!  She walked around the corner and I'm not sure she expected us to be sitting there, but we were!  It was awesome.  We got to enjoy a nice little lunch break and spend some time with Kitty while we were out of school.  I know I enjoyed it immensely and I think my kids did too!  She has really cool fountains (rivers) at her office and we got to ride an elevator up to her office.  My kids LOVE both of those things AND they love Kitty too!

I mean, 1/3 looking at the camera isn't too shabby, right?

Happy 30th Kitty.
You are the best middle sister I've ever had and I am so thankful to have you close!

My girls.

I pray for their relationship every day.
I pray that they will grow up and be best friends.
I know that there will be lots of fights.
Lots of shared clothing and stolen clothing.
Lots of attention that isn't shared on purpose, but attention that someone robs from someone else.
I worry that maybe I won't believe the child who's telling the actual truth.
I worry that the girls will do more damage to each other than I can prevent or...

I worry.  Clearly, I worry a lot.
The girls seem just fine.
The lipstick queen and the happy go lucky baby.
I pray they will be friends.
I pray each and every day that they will be like us.
My sisters.
My best friends.
The people I call or text or chat with more than anyone else.
I don't really have friends.
I have sisters.
They can't quit me.
And I can't quit them.

Sisters

In August of 2013 we found out we were pregnant with #3.  I remember distinctly being thrilled and scared all at the same time.  We decided to share our news with our family at Libby's 2nd birthday party.  We got the kids t-shirts made and waited for everyone to notice.  Leigh Anne was the first to notice and she ran out to confirm that what she read on Lib's shirt was indeed true.  It was.
So I began to think about who that child would be.  Would it be a boy?  I wanted the last one to be a boy so bad.  I just wanted one little girl... and she was a handful, trust me.  She's enough little girl for all of the world.  Seriously.  I love her, but man, she's exhausting.  Well, fastforwrd 16 weeks and we found out it was another little girl.  Daryk and I were just glad to find out what 'IT' was... and 'IT' was a SHE!
More PINK, more hairbows, more glitter, more sass!  Can we handle that?  Are we ready for a repeat of Libby J?  Yikes!  The more I thought about it, the more I wanted that little girl.  I mean, what is better than sisters?  After all, I have two of my own and I love them with every fiber of my being.  I cannot imagine this world without them.  They are often the first and last people I communicate with on a daily basis.
They GET me.  They get the strange things that make me, ME.  They are often the first people to point out things I neglect, things I didn't want to be reminded of, and things I need to work on.  They are the two women who help to raise my babies and love on them like an extra momma.  My sisters are irreplaceable.  They are amazing and I cannot imagine my life without them.  I am beyond thankful that my girls have each other.  They will be there to walk in front of each other at their weddings.  They will stand beside each other on those days as well.  They will share things and fix hair and steal clothes and all of those girly things.  Sisters are girlfriends and best friends and enemies all at the same time.

My sisters are my favorite people and I'm hoping that my girls will grow up with the same love.
