Soccer Sundays

This was my soccer weather on Sunday.
I did NOT want to go play.
I was so certain that our game would be cancelled because of the rain and thunder!
I was wrong!
The field was in good shape and it wasn't too squishy.
No standing water, so we played.
It rained off and on the entire time we were out there Sunday.
I loved it.
I got to run and I burned 1300 calories!
I need to play soccer every day.
I love exercising, but there is nothing as challenging as racing towards the ball.

I had makeup on before the game.
Thankfully I had baby wipes in the car to remove it as my mascara was running down my face.
Post game sweat/rain look.

My sweet toe got crunched during the game.
But I won and got the ball!
It didn't look too bad on Sunday night....

But this morning it looks pretty gross.
I doesn't hurt, thankfully, just looks nasty.

Have bat, will travel.

Oh, you know, typical Saturday picnic at BeBe and PaPa's house.
Lunch on the veranda.
It was a very light lunch of nutella sandwiches and cheetos.
Elizabeth enjoys them a little too much.
She peels the bread apart and eats the nutella off the bread.
Occasionally she actually eats the bread, but not often.

Notice the bat in the background.
It went with us all weekend.
I'm thinking it will disappear soon...
Yeah, so?

Best thing since sliced bread

Friday night we ventured out to the traveling fair for a night of fun.
My mother gave me her 'be careful on the rides' speech before we left.
My children were THRILLED.
Hayes has been eyeing that fair for the last 2-3 weeks and asks every time we pass if we can go ride.
He thinks there are roller coasters.
Not at this fair.
But there was a train.

And Daddy got to cram himself into the tiny train car with Elizabeth.
Hayes rode all by himself like a big boy!
Daddy also had to ride this wiggle worm that went around and around...

They loved that too!
Finally, we all got to ride the carousel!
The horses going up and down were awesome!
I don't think Elizabeth had any fun at all.
She has more chins than me.
I'm cool with that.
Hayes gave me the crap smile that his father passed down.
Thanks Daryk.
After we rode all the 'baby rides' as Hayes called them, we headed over to the Tilt a Whirl.
Hayes LOVES to ride scary rides.
He and I got in line and I tried to get some pics.
He refused.... until he realized he could play with the camera.

Stinker would NOT cooperater with me!

I guess he thinks he's avoiding the paprazzi.
Please, no more photos.
Talk to the ticket.

I know he's growing up and getting bigger....
But those tiny hands and fat fingers make me so happy.
Also, we played a stupid game where they picked up ducks and got a prize.
Elizabeth picked this giant pink monkey.
Hayes chose this stupid bat.
Typical boy.
Our night at the fair was the best $40 I've spent in a long time.
They both cried when we had to leave.

Ivory 2-n-1 hair and body wash

I was SO excited to get my first Influenster box this week!
I've been working with this website hoping to be able to review some new products and this one is perfect!
I am a very active mom between work and my children.
Sometimes I even manage to squeeze in time for myself with exercise.
Which means I have to bathe more often... ugh.
I'm not a huge fan of taking time to bathe.
Don't get me wrong, I do the whole bathe daily thing.
Often, I bathe twice daily because I've worked myself into a sweat chasing children around.
I love this new product because it does dual duty for me.
If I take it with me to the gym it is less hassle for travel since it does dual duty!
It smells yummy and that is a requirement for me when using body wash & shampoo.
I love me some smelly good!
That was the first thing I tested when I pulled this out of the box, smell!

I even used it to bathe my little beauties!
It is not tear free, so we had to be careful on their heads, but they liked 'being like mommy.'
It had some great bubble bath action for Hayes!

Yes, two different tubs.
Occasionally we bathe at grandma's house!

And let's face it, with these two we have to bathe often.
Cheetos and Nutella, anyone?
Go check out Ivory on Facebook.
And view their video here.

I was provided the Ivory 2-n-1 Hair and Body Wash complimentary through the Influenster program.
All opinions are my own and include my family's as well.

Baby pooped in the tub.

This kid right here has a mind of her own.
She's crazy affectionate and fiercely independent.
She's also very sensitive and doesn't like to be yelled at.
Last night at Grandma's house she got a little too excited about the bath and jumped up.
Then she slipped and landed on her bottom.
Hard.
Poor kid came up crying and was a little traumatized.
About 3 seconds after we are trying to console her we hear Hayes saying, 'Baby pooped in the tub."
So apparently, she literally scared the poop out of herself.
I wasn't sure that was possible, but now I know that it is.
After cleaning up the poop and the tub we had do-over with bathtime.

Happy baby girl.
Clean bathtub.
Thanks Aunt Ellie!

On Saturday we got to keep baby Kendall.
It was our first time getting to watch her since she was born!
Hayes was a little bit too excited for that event.
When Kendall's parents left Hayes says, 'We get to keep Kendall?'
With big eyes and a huge smile he hugged her!
It was a good afternoon.
Kendall tried to stay awake for the long haul, but the swing and the sunshine were too much.

Also, my children used me as a launching pad Sunday morning before church.
It was craziness.

It ain't always sunshine & rainbows...

After I read one of my favorite people's post about her rough morning I had my own version of a rough morning.

I woke up late, but that's per my usual.  Unless I get up early to exercise you can pretty much assume I'm going to wake up at about 6:45 with intentions to leave at 7:30 and deliver the children.  I also had to bathe, fix my hair, and make a breakfast for myself.

Yay for crappy time management and not wanting to get out of the bed.

So I got up and thankfully the kids were still sleeping.  I turned on the shower to allow time for the hot water to journey from the basement to my shower and went to the kitchen to make morning milk cups for my babies.  I went back up to my shower, washed my hair, shaved my legs, and used the smelly good soap for an extra boost of good vibes today.  I got out of the shower, dried off and wrapped my nintey thousand million hairs up in a towel.  I put lotion on my legs and heard the infamous, 'open the doooooor-uhhhh' from Hayes' room.

I went to get him up and dressed.  He was moving as slow as an injured turtle today.  We finally got him dressed and had a pep talk about going to poop on the potty and NOT in his pants (here's hoping) then I sent him off to drink milk and watch Little Einsteins while I got ready.  Not too long after I got my hair dry did I hear the little girl screech from across the house.  'Mommaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, I want up.'  So I answered her screech with a smile and tried to get her dressed.  She didn't like her shoes or her dress or her hairbow or her diaper or anything else.  So we battled.  Thankfully I won and there were minimal tears on both ends.  It only took 20 minutes longer than it should have.  Awesome.

I finished getting myself ready and noticed it was officially 7:30 and I still had about 10 minutes of getting ready before we could leave.  Again, per my usual.

Ten minutes later I was loading two crying kids in the car.  Elizabeth wanted more milk and didn't want to wear her sandals anymore.  They are too big she keeps repeating, which they are not.  They actually fit her fat feet, which rarely happens ever.  Hayes is crying because he can and he didn't even want to come downstairs.  He didn't want to leave our house at all.  He doesn't want to see Papa or Bebe or Zack or Maggie or Dwayne.  He doens't want to do anything.  Or so he says...

So since he's mad and not strapped into his seat yet he starts to irritate his sister.  She's stuck in her seat and can't fight back.  I ran back into the house to grab my water bottle and next thing I know they are both screeching and screaming in the car and I have no idea why.  Awesome.

So I instruct Hayes to put his bottom in his seat and buckle himself up (I have to help,  but he does most of it himself) and he's crying.  Elizabeth is crying and is begging for silly songs that Hayes is continually protesting.  I roll the windows down and open the sunroof.  So what if we inhale 90 gallons of pollen in the 7 mile ride, I need to distract them.  About 2 minutes into the departure they are both quiet and finally cooperative with each other.  They are searching for their cows and hope to see the baby cows before we get to Bebe's house.  No cows and no more tears until we arrive at Bebe's house.

Elizabeth promptly removed her shoes about 3 minutes into the trip from our house to Bebe's.  I told her she had to wear them at Bebe's and at school.  So we had to battle about those when we got to Bebe's house.  I told her to stop fighting with me about it and she cried.  Parent of the YEAR over here!

I successfully made everyone cry today before we even had breakfast.  I am such a winner.

I'd like a do-over please.  And possibly a melt down of my own.

I'm linking up with one of my fave blogs today!  Go check all the other ladies, and possibly a man? to see what they shared today!

Cochran Baby #3

I've been gearing up for baby #3 for a long time.  I'm pretty sure I was ready for #3 about the time Elizabeth turned 1.  We were moving and the house got bigger (thank you Jesus) and I just knew I'd get to have another little person.  Last week we named the hypothetical 3rd child.  I'm pretty sure I've got it in the bag now.

I can't wait to be pregnant again!  I love being able to grow little people.  I can't wait to introduce Hayes and Elizabeth to a new member of our family.  I can't wait to have my own little baby to smell and hold again.  I think that if I didn't have a job and bills to worry with that I would just keep having babies for a long time.  Something about the new and the adventure they bring makes them addictive.  I can't wait to nurse a little one and soak up the baby rolls and squishy fat.

I have jokingly told people that if my sister wasn't getting married I would already be knocked up.  That's a truth, not a joke, but it wasn't until last week that I was certain I would be able to do so.  I just couldn't accidentally get pregnant with our 3rd baby.  As much as I wanted a baby, I wasn't willing to lie to my husband for that.  Talk about a mess....

Either way, we are gearing up for our summer break--30 more school days left (not that I'm counting) and I couldnt' be MORE ready for summer and our newest attempt at an addition.

Woot woot for a Cochran Baby #3.  And summertime!  The pool, the playground, the creek, the sunshine!  My babies have recently developed a deep affection for blowing bubbles, so I need a good bubble juice recipe.  Any ideas?
Saying a prayer for baby #3 and hoping that God provides.
I can't wait for squishy toes and baby snuggles.

Adventures in Babysitting, errrr teaching.

Every year since I started teaching I've been privileged to accompany my smart kids to Jekyll Island.
We attend GANHS convention in April and it pretty much rocks!
This is Driftwood Beach.
There are trees all over in pieces, still growing out of the sand, over run by the waves.
We They climbed over a lot of them.
I climbed up 3 feet to have this picture made.

While I'm soaking up convention exhaustion, sunshine, and students....
The babies are returning from the lake trip and snoozing in the car.
The POWER NAP!
It always amazes me that they sleep like this and their little necks don't hurt.
I need to invent some sort of neck saver for the little people.
I could make millions, no?
My Buzz and Woody playing with trains.
I haven't seen them since Wednesday April 10.
I think this is the longest I've ever been away from them both and I'm super sad.
I'm so ready to go HOME and see them tomorrow afternoon!
Meanwhile, tonight I'm the DJ at the GANHS dance.
I'll be on the radio next week.
Radio Disney that is...

We should have a party.

The children went to visit my parents at the lake.
We should have had a party.
We didn't.
We did laundry.
We went shopping with my mother in law and our cousin.
The kids fished.

And tried out new specs.
Upside down.
Without pants on.
I got to drink Cheerwine and have cake!
We also took an adventure to the DMV and spent about 2 hours waiting before we got our license renewed.
Rock.  On.

Italian Cream Cake.
The End.

Doodles & the creek

Everyone in America please observe the next big artist.
She's been practicing since the ripe old age of 1 in the floor of the kitchen.
In her pull ups.

We have a creek at the house!
We went exploring and the children loved it.
Hayes was hesitant, typical.
Elizabeth would have dove right in if we hadn't stopped her.
Notice her messy bottom below!

They were both brave enough to stick their feet in there.

Whaaaaa? It's Wednesday

Our Spring Break was FULL of crazy days.
They usually started like this.
Jammies, brushing teeth, and smiles.

And most of those days we didn't even change out of the jammies.
Clothing=optional.

So, yeah.
She's the cutest kid ever.
Gap teeth and all.

Tuesday Spring Break

Chick fil A day.
My baby sister works at corporate office so we got to take a field trip!
YAY!

We met the cows, fondled the cows, loved on the cows, and kissed them bye.

She was a bit hesitant of the cows.
But she LOVES to put on a show for everyone.

We had to carefully watch her because she almost climbed into the fountains!
One more grunt and she might have managed to hoist her hiney right over the stones into the water.
Wouldn't even surprise me ONE bit.
She is my adventurous child.
She has no fear and lovingly dares us to chase her as the runs off to another adventure.

This boy, however, is overly cautious.
He is very hesitant to try new things and doesn't want to be directed to do anything he doesn't choose to do.
He's a very careful little guy.
Curious, but cautious.

This is their BFF at the gym.
We cannot make a trip to the gym without stopping to take a picture with Armstrong the frog.
